Welcome to our Quarterly Newsletter
The past 3 months has seen many activities and events at the cafe – here are a few examples.
Following on from our successful Easter tea dance in April.
MAY – saw a wonderful trip on the brilliant steam train which was organised by Dementia Friendly Rossendale Where we had sandwiches, scones with cream and ham and a singalong accompanied by a Ukelele.
JUNE – saw a trip to Townley Hall, organised by our very creative events co-ordinator Lavinia, where everybody enjoyed a tour of the hall.
JULY – saw mouse racing, dancing and memory games. The mice knitted by Lavinia, raced along the table on a roll of a dice, with a prize for the winner.
Our cafe is open to everyone, with more activities planned for the upcoming months, including a visit from the very talented Mindful Music in October.
Dementia Cafe Volunteer
Our successful Reminiscence Cafe runs every Thursday from 10.30 am till 2.30 pm. It is based at Bacup Central Methodist Church, 32 Burnley Road, Bacup, OL13 8AB We always need an extra pair of hands to get involved with the events and the visitors.
