Rossendale Heritage Festival Week 29th – 7th July
Welcome to the first Rossendale Heritage Week – nine days of events and activities that celebrate the diverse history and unique landscape!
The festival has come from ourselves CAST, and our successful Heritage Lottery award, that kickstarted a two-year listing project of Rossendale’s Heritage Assets.
Rossendale has many historical items from pathways to walls, plaques to windows, post boxes to buildings and everything in-between that we take for granted.
At Waterfoot Wake’s parade on Saturday 6th July you will be able to see some of these unique local features recreated by schools and community groups, from a series of workshops run by Alastair Price from Horse + Bamboo.
The theme of heritage runs strong through the festival events – from telling the story of Ramadan to a 1950’s Midsummer Fair, the festival is a cultural celebration that brings together all ages and communities, that shouts loud and proud about Rossendale.
Don’t miss the heritage parades in Bacup & Staksteads 30th June and Waterfoot Wakes on the 6th July.
