About CAST

CAST have worked in the Bacup community since 2013 bringing in funding to run community projects (see ‘our projects’)

We were based at 21 Market Street but have now moved to the AB&D Centre on Burnley Road where we run our Thursday Lunch Club (see ‘our lunches’) and continue to work in the Rossendale community.

We support other community organisations and projects and regularly work closely with others to widen the offer and reach throughout Rossendale. We have an excellent working relationship with Dementia Friendly Rossendale. (See link at top of page).

CAST now has five trustees, we try to meet every three or four months to discuss our present projects and future plans, one of the meetings is our AGM, and all decisions are made by agreement of the trustees. Ideally we would like a couple more trustees with new ideas to help CAST continue to grow and serve the community. Please get in touch if you would like to be involved either as a new trustee or a volunteer to help run our community projects or fundraising activities.

As well as organising fundraising activities we have received funding from The National Lottery, Santander, Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Duchy of Lancaster, Eric Wright Foundation, Heritage Lottery Fund, Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF), Rossendale Borough Council (RBC), Bacup Fellowship of Churches, Dementia Friendly Rossendale (DFR), Community Foundation of Lancashire and training and short courses from Council for Voluntary Service (CVS)
