Community Assets Standing Tall (CAST) is a Community Interest Organisation (CIO) having charitable Status, Register No. 1153512 and run by a Board of Trustees made up from the local community.

The group was formed 6th June 2013 when the need to identify and help protect community assets became apparent and gained Charitable Status on 22nd August 2013.

A Community Asset is anything at all that the community feel is an integral part of the area, be it for its historical, commemorative, scenic or sentimental value, if it is something you really don’t want to lose from your community it is a Community Asset.

Community Assets Standing Tall (CAST) aim to identify assets throughout the Rossendale Valley and asses their condition with a view to refurbishment and preservation where possible and re-use for the benefit of the local community.

Community Assets Standing Tall (CAST) will work with the local authority to register assets, will create and hold a portfolio of community assets and will assist community groups interested in taking on board their own assets.

If the need arises CAST will provide organisational training on Asset Management.

At Community Assets Standing Tall (CAST) we work in partnership with the ‘Building Preservation Trust’ whose expertise is an invaluable asset and two of our trustees sit on their partnership board.

Community Assets Standing Tall will in its lifetime work with many community groups and organizations in order to best serve our historical area and its community.
